Cross Island - cellist Suzanne Mueller and pianist Elinor Abrams Zayas - perform again with clarinetist Josh Redman on the Music from St. Peter's series. The program will span centuries, styles, and genres, seamlessly blending beloved classics with works written and arranged for CROSS ISLAND - music we love and can't wait to share with our audience.

The afternoon begins with Franz Schubert’s beloved Shepherd on the Rock, with the cello taking the vocal part.

Next, Suzanne and Elinor present Frank Bridge’s lovely Cradle Song.

Then, Josh and Ellie present the fifth of Gerald Finzi's charming Bagatelles.

The trio then regroups for Max Bruch's exquisite Nachtgesang.

Leonard Bernstein’s Somewhere, from West Side Story, is next, followed by a cello/piano version of George Gershwin's It Ain’t Necessarily So, from Porgy and Bess.

The first half of the program ends with the powerful first movement - Allegro - of Cécile Chaminade's Piano Trio in G Minor..

After intermission, things get off to a lovely start with Antonio Carlos Jobim's classic bossa nova work, Amor em Paz.

Suzanne and Elinor then share Heitor Villa-Lobos's Song of the Black Swan.

A brace of beloved works by Robert Schumann follows: His Fantasy Piece No.1 (in its original clarinet/piano version) and Piece in Folkstyle No. 5 (likewise, in its original cello/piano version).

Next is To Become World, James Grant's musical evocation of marriage, performed by Josh and (newlywed) Suzanne.

The program closes with Arkadie Kouguell’s Melodie et Danse Hebraique.
